The LGBTQIA+ Network is for anyone working within the environment and sustainability profession who identify as LGBTQIA+. The purpose of this network is to create a safe space for people who identify as LGBTQIA+ to discuss any barriers, voice any current concerns they might have within the profession and celebrate best practices. We then share this anonymously with our Diverse Sustainability Initiative (DSI) partners and therefore influence and drive change.

Meet both our LGBTQIA+ network leads; Lucy Bradbury (she/her)

'I’m Lucy Bradbury (she/her), Global ESG Training & Development Lead at AECOM. I specialize in developing and delivering training to enable teams to embed ESG into everything they do. I’ve been at AECOM for 7 years and throughout that time I’ve helped provide strategy and direction as part of the Pride Europe LGBTQIA+ steering committee. I was also on the National Executive Committee of Building Equality before I moved to the US in October 2022, so I’m excited to get back to organizing networking events in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.'

Meg Baker (she/her)

'I’m Meg Baker (she/her), Co-director of inclusion and climate justice at Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK) and am seconded to the University and College Union once a week to support members with progressing Just Transition work. I’ve been working in inclusive education and sustainability education for about 15 years and have always been passionate about taking a holistic approach to delivering on justice through climate and environment work. I strongly believe that by creating safe, inclusive spaces we support people to thrive and this applies to all aspects of our lives. Through my work at SOS-UK, I’m working to progress this across the wider environmental charities sector as well as internally within our own organisation. I’m really looking forward to connecting with a network of fellow LGBTQIA+ colleagues working in the environment sector, supporting each other and pushing to make this an inclusive sector for other LGBTQIA+ people.'
