Protect Advice

Protect aims to make whistleblowing work for individuals, organisations and society.

When to contact- If you witness wrongdoing or malpractice that poses a risk to others in the workplace, you can reach out to this organisation to whistleblow confidentially.

Acas (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service)

Acas work with millions of employers and employees every year to improve workplace relationships. They are an independent public body that receives funding from the government.

When to contact- If you’ve experienced or witnessed race discrimination at work, including racial harassment and victimisation, and you would like support on what steps you can take.

Equality Advisory & Support Service (EASS)

The helpline advises and assists individuals on issues relating to equality and human rights, across England, Scotland and Wales. As well as offering guidance on your rights as someone with a protected characteristic, they also offer legal letter templates when suspecting mistreatment at work.

When to contact- If you would like advice on issues relating to equality and human rights, including guidance for disabled people.

True Vision

Provides information about hate crimes and an online form for reporting them.

When to contact- When you want report hate crime or need some further guidance around this.

How to contact- Report hate crime online here if you want to call to report a hate crime, please report this to the police.

Mental Health Support

Black Minds Matter

Black Minds Matter UK is a fully registered charity operating in the UK; connecting Black individuals and families with free mental health services- by professional Black therapists to support their mental health. Our vision is to make mental health topics more relevant and accessible for all Black people in the U.K., removing the stigma and remodelling the services to be relevant for the Black community.

When to contact If you need help getting yourself or your family connected with free mental health services.

Mind

They offer help through information, advice and local services regarding mental health.

When to contact– If you would like to read about the Young Black Men programme and similar programmes and access resources aimed to help build personal resilience and enable people to take care of their mental health and wellbeing.

Rethink Mental Illness

They work to transform the lives of everyone severely affected by mental illness. They provide over 200 services, 140 local support groups and run campaigns that bring about real change.
